Former newspaper reporter and news producer, Jim rose to the heady heights of Director of News for United Broadcasting.

He was responsible for the regional news output of Meridian, Anglia and HTV.

He had previously set up the news, current affairs and sports departments of Meridian Broadcasting when it launched in 1992.

He launched the new magazine show Meridian Tonight and it became the first ever to win the RTS for all THREE regional programmes at the same time!

He spent the last few years of his time with Granada as Managing Director of Granada Sport.
